Wedding Photography Somerset
Being based in Bristol means that I work as a wedding photographer in Somerset a lot throughout the year. If you’re planning a wedding in Somerset then I’d love to hear from you. It’s a fantastic part of the world, one of my absolute favourites. I have shot quite a few weddings in Somerset and have loved every. single. one.
Without fail they have been fun, laid back weddings. There must be something in that country air. I’ve worked at a lot of different venues throughout Somerset and just wanted to tell you about a few of my favourites. If you’re planning your wedding at the moment and are getting married at one of these venues then well done, you’ve already made a great choice! If you’re getting married elsewhere then I’d love to hear about it. I’ve shot weddings in all sorts of places, from grand stately homes to backgarden bbq’s.

In the last couple of years I’ve shot a few times at Charlton House Spa Hotel. A really cool hotel and spa nestled on the edge of Shepton Mallet, it’s a unique wedding venue with some great spaces. The orangery there is a beautiful space for a wedding – that’s Liz on her way down the staircase to her ceremony. It’s a really great hotel too, with some unique bedrooms and a lovely sloping lawn to the rear which is great for summer receptions. The little orchard makes a fantastic spot for some portraits too. Another favourite venue of mine is Priston Mill, just outside Bath. Situated in a private valley at the end of a long track, Priston Mill actually has two separate venues, the Watermill and the Barn. They are both different and very distinct, the watermill being spread across a couple of levels and having a light airy feel upstairs, while the barn is a bigger space and makes for a lovely inviting ceremony and dinner area. The last wedding I photographed at Priston was with Lucy and Tom. They’re the ones snuggling up under the willow tree over there.
There’s plenty of other fantastic venues – Maunsel House and Muddiford’s Court are two that readily spring to mind – and then of course there’s the incredible Orcharleigh near Frome as well.
A recent addition to my favourites list is the awesome Aldwick Court Farm and Vineyard. A beautiful setting just outside of Bristol, Aldwick sits in a secluded valley and has the most gorgeous backdrops for portraits. This image is from Sara and Chris’ wedding there. It honestly felt like we were in the mediterranean at times! It’s only a stone’s throw from one of the most well known wedding venues near Bristol, Coombe Lodge.
