Today we’re at Coombe Lodge – a total treasure of a wedding venue nestled in the countryside outside Blagdon. Laura and Tim got married in October, although to be honest it felt like June, the weather was amazing. The sun was shining, it was warm and felt like the last days of summer. Pretty glorious all in all! As you can see, Coombe Lodge is a pretty special wedding venue. It’s got a unique combination of grandeur and intimacy – inside, the wood panelling gives a really warm atmosphere and the open fires make for a super cosy setting. Laura and Tim had planned an awesome day – they had an outdoor ceremony followed by cocktails on the lawn! What more could you ask for? I loved their designs for indoors too – the gin bottles on each table were an awesome idea and complemented by the table plan nicely. The speeches made me laugh quietly behind the camera and we had a lovely time when we went off to do some portraits too. I always break the portraits up throughout the day so that couples aren’t away from everyone for too long. It works so well that way and means they enjoy them that much more. It’s great to have these little sessions throughout the day where you get to take it all in and have some time together. And shooting portraits at Coombe Lodge is a dream. I can find new places to shoot each time I go there and the way the backgrounds change through the seasons is fantastic. So there we go – go take a look at some pictures and enjoy!
