Time for my annual highlights from the last year of being a bristol and somerset wedding photographer! I have had so much fun putting this together, reliving so many amazing days and remembering all the different places and people I got to see. I am so thankful to be able to do this for a living. Time’s been in short supply lately – life in general moves pretty fast doesn’t it (to paraphrase the great Ferris Bueller) and we’ve just finished some major building work at home which has taken up the last 4 months or so too. But having the time and space this week to sit down and reflect on the last 12 months has been a really wonderful experience. I am incredibly grateful to all the couples who’ve worked with me in the last year to create these images at their weddings. And not just them – their friends and family who were so welcoming, so warm and friendly – and I think that really comes across in the photographs. I’ll often have people chat to me at weddings and ask about my job and one of the things I always say is what a privilege it is to be able to be there to document the day that two people join together. It feels like such a special thing to be able to witness time and again. And then there’s the travel, too. I photographed at some amazing places this year, from lovely local venues in Somerset such as The Roman Baths, Priston Mill, Aldwick Court and Coombe Lodge to ones slightly further afield such as the magical Matara Centre and the impressive Polhawn Fort. This year also saw me photographing weddings in France at the beautiful Domaine de Guerquesalles and Italy, at the incredible San Galgano abbey. Travelling abroad is always a really fun experience and one I’m looking forward to repeating later this year. Who knows where 2020 will take me!
