The lovely Emma and Jack are today’s couple to grace the pages of the blog with their wonderful Appuldurcombe House wedding on the Isle of Wight! I first met them at Maria and Dan’s wedding down at Polhawn Fort in Cornwall. Dan is Emma’s brother and it was lovely to see some of their families again and get to photograph Emma and Jack having a go at this wedding day malarkey!! The day started off at Emma and Jack’s house where the girls were getting ready. Despite various bridesmaid dress related disasters everyone was in good spirits and super excited about the day to come. And rightly so – Appuldurcombe House is the most amazing wedding venue. A semi-derelict mansion nestled into the most beautiful grounds. It’s really quite something. When I arrived the sun was shining down and Jack was greeting everyone and looked so happy and relaxed. He may have got a bit watery-eyed when Emma walked down the aisle though :D
The ceremony was beautiful – the ruined parts of the house are all around you and it makes for such a unique atmosphere. Before they knew it, Emma and Jack were married. After a little bit of confetti throwing it was on with the party! And what a party it was – a delicious meal and some brilliant speeches followed. I love the nervous pacing / practicing that you sometimes see before speeches. I always try and get a few subtle images of people rehearsing and preparing. See if you can spot the special pair of pants that made an appearance during the Best Man’s speech. After a bit of a break and a wander around for some portraits, it was on to the dancefloor to cut the cake, have the first dance and then enjoy some live music and confetti canons!! What an awesome day. Thank you for having me guys, you smashed it!
