Goodness. That’s really the best word to describe everything I wanted to write. It describes the past year, that’s for sure. It’s been full of goodness. Amazing weddings and wonderful, funny, generous people. It’s also what I look for and strive for in my images. Goodness. Goodness of any sort – emotion, happiness, laughter, tears, joy, absolutely bricking it, doing shots at the bar once you’ve got the first dance over with, spending some time together in the midst of the madness – all of these things and more. I love looking back at my work from the year, not least because it reminds me of all those moments I lived through and captured, those moments that mean so much to other people. But also because it reminds me of where I’m going, what I’m aiming for and of exactly what things are important and what things I need to keep pursuing in my pictures. That goodness. That joy for life, that energy and emotion and love. So, in the midst of a rather grey and chilly January, I hope this brings some warmth to you and fills you with a bit of that goodness too.
