2014 – Wedding Photography Review
Sun. Rain. Wind. More Sun. Early mornings and late nights. Bouquets sitting patiently in water. The smell of hairspray. Lots of hairspray. Tissues and lip gloss being packed in to handbags. That one guest who’s always late, running into church. Rings that don’t. quite. fit. The first kiss. And the one after that. Confetti getting EVERYWHERE. That first, relieved, we’ve-actually-done-it sip of champagne. Children chasing balloons. High-five’s and handshakes. Ultra competitive jenga. Seeing your dad practicing his speech. Someone shrieking with laughter. Walking into the room and being hit by the sound of applause. The best man telling that one story that you assumed he wouldn’t. Hugs with your best friend. Ushers getting, um, merry. That quietly proud look that you didn’t notice your mum giving you. Cutting the cake… How do we cut the cake?! The super-choreographed footstep-perfect first dance. Or the awkward shuffle waiting for the song to end. Watching the sunset from the lawn. Tequila Slammers. Jaegerbombs. Toasting marshmallows on a fire. Playing with sparklers. Holding hands in the moonlight. All of these things and many, many more.
