A wedding at Paintworks in Bristol for you today, from Alice and Charlie’s wedding last summer. Paintworks is a really great space and pretty special if you’re looking for a city centre wedding in Bristol. It’s often used as a gallery but just as suited to being a great venue for cool and modern weddings too. I was excited to be shooting there for the first time and loved the mix of modern architecture and older materials and textures everywhere – it’s basically a photographer’s dream! Alice and Charlie had really made the space come alive with some great use of fairy lights and beautiful details, including flowers by the insanely talented Claire at the Wilde Bunch. We also kick things off with a pretty unusual dress shot – I don’t normally do extreme things with wedding dresses! I can’t quite understand pictures of dresses and shoes in trees or what have you, I prefer to incorporate the people and goings on of the morning into any photographs of the dress, but in this case Alice’s mum was showing me a picture of the house back when it was built and it seemed to just make sense, in a kind of historical loop. I had a fantastic time with Alice and Charlie and it’s lovely to look back on these images. A day full of love, laughter and high spirits. What more could you ask for.

Beautiful job all round but that 2nd to last frame is a killer.
Just amazing, inspiring work Sam. I love the way you see. And shoot. And edit. Too good all round.
Gosh. Outstanding. Brilliant work Sam.
