I met Marianne and Graham at a wedding early last year. Graham mooned me while I was shooting portraits of his friends Natalie and Jamie. When he got in touch about his own wedding later in the summer I knew that it was bound to be a fun day!! And so it was. Marianne and Graham are avid Shambala goers, so what better time and place to get married than across the lake from Shambala, the day before the festival started? Well, none actually.
The setting for their festival themed wedding was Kelmarsh Hall, the stately home that looks down across rolling fields and a beautiful lake and over to the Shambala festival itself. I met Marianne and Graham in the morning while they were getting ready, sequestered in separate rooms at a nearby B&B. It was great to see some more friendly faces in the form of Natalie and Jamie too. Things took their course from there and we all headed to Kelmarsh Hall for the ceremony. I think I shot one of my favourite ever ‘leaving the ceremony’ images – top hats really do make for a pretty epic ‘hats off’ shot. And then the party began. There were beautiful speeches, slightly tipsy croquet, a lovely wander around the private gardens for some portraits and then some chilled out time on the lawn while the sun went down. I think it was pretty much the perfect day and Marianne and Graham were just a joy to work with. The speeches got started as soon as the skinny dippers made it back in from the lake *ahem* and then the dancing began – check out the mirrorball first dance shot too. Another personal favourite. A fantastic band kicked off proceedings and a little while later I left them all dancing their socks off.
Congratulations once again guys, I had a fantastic time with you! Enjoy x
