For your viewing pleasure today we have the absolutely wonderful Clare and James joining us on the blog, with their wedding at Larmer Tree Gardens last summer. If you don’t know Larmer Tree then you’re missing out on something very special indeed. It’s a unique place – an old victorian pleasure garden nestled in the Cranbourne Chase, an area of ‘outstanding natural beauty’ in Wiltshire. This was my first time photographing a wedding at Larmer Tree so I was particularly excited that the weather forecast was for sun – if you’re getting married in a garden, you really do want it to be a nice day after all. I had a great start at Clare’s parents house in the morning, which was just fizzing with excitement – and then arriving at Larmer Tree I was met by peacocks and some very presentable wedding guests too. I loved seeing Clare walk across the lawn towards the assembled guests and her husband to be – it’s such an amazing setting, I think there was an audible gasp from the crowd when they saw her coming. The ceremony went smoothly – no mean feat when you have a rather young ring bearer. And then the party started. Giant jenga, space hoppers and badminton for the kids (and the big kids) and drinks and nibbles for everyone else. I loved the way that Clare and James had decorated and styled the pavillion for the dinner too – it was so carefully thought out, with awesome favours (wonka bars, ‘drink me’ shots, games and other things) and children’s books as table names. And then the speeches – Clare’s dad’s speech even had a song (accompanied by Clare’s mum on guitar!) – it was brilliant. I hope you enjoy looking through these as much as I enjoyed taking them, and a massive massive thank you to Clare and James for being so utterly delightful and lovely to work with. Congrats again guys x
