Claire and Jon’s wedding at Cirencester parish church followed by their reception at the magnificent Barnsley House gets it’s full showing on the blog today! As I sit here typing, looking out over a drizzly, grey Bristol, it’s rather lovely to look back at the sunny images from their day. I joined Claire and her friends at the salon in the morning and everything started from there. Following a liberal dousing in hair spray (I know hairdressers do an awful lot more than that, but there are times as the photographer that it feels like that’s the main objective) we went back to Claire’s parents house to get ready. It’s always such a privilege to be allowed into people’s homes like that. Once Claire was safely in her dress I hot footed it back into Cirencester to meet Jon heading towards the church. And what a church it is. In fact, it doesn’t really feel like a church inside at all – it’s one of the most beautiful buildings and feels so big and airy inside that it’s almost cathedral like in its scale. As guests began to arrive the anticipation built. And finally they were rewarded by the sight of Claire and her dad entering the church. The ceremony went smoothly (they invariably do – I don’t think I’ve been to one that hasn’t actually) and we all headed off to Barnsley House. The pimms flowed, the gardens did what gardens do (looked exceptionally pretty – if you haven’t been to Barnsley House you really should) and everyone chatted and had fun. I think you get the idea – I’ll let the pictures do the talking from now on…
