So in the midst of torrential downpours and gale force winds outside, I thought it would be nice to look back on one of those rare sunny summer days that we had this year. joanna + nick got married at Coombe Lodge near Blagdon back in July. And actually the forecast back then was just as dire as it is today, but somehow we evaded the clouds and rain completely. I don’t know if this was some Michael Fish-esque forecasting mistake, or perhaps Blagdon has it’s own unique micro-climate, unaffected by the weather elsewhere in the area. Either way, it was just as well as joanna had been planning an outdoor ceremony and was worried that it might have to be moved indoors. With half an eye on the sky outside everyone was busy getting ready. I love Coombe Lodge – it’s a wonderful building with bags of character and some seriously gorgeous rooms to boot. So that’s where we begin, upstairs in the bridal suite…
