Hello! I’m Sam. I’m a creative documentary wedding photographer based in Bristol.
First of all, I’m guessing you’re getting married? Congratulations! That’s pretty blooming exciting isn’t it! Now that I know a little about you, it only seems fair to tell you a little about me. I live in Bristol with my wife, two young kids and our scruffy dog. My job means I get to work with couples all over the UK and abroad to create beautiful, stylish and unobtrusive images of their wedding days. Oh and I specialise in documentary wedding photography. Put simply, that means I let you relax and be yourselves – I don’t stop what you’re doing, I don’t interrupt or get you to pose for the camera. And that means you get honest, natural and emotive photographs which let you remember your day in the years to come – just the way it was.
LOVE & LAUGHTER
I have always loved photography, ever since I was a kid. Somehow I ended up working for the BBC, filming and directing documentaries about people. Then I sort of accidentally photographed a wedding and that was that. I was hooked! Using my extensive background in film-making I know how to create a unique, cinematic record capturing all the emotion, spirit and soul of your wedding. I want you to have the best day of your lives, to soak up the atmosphere and spend time with your friends and family while I create beautiful images that stand the test of time. By combining natural documentary photographs with stunning and creative portraits you get a great mix of photography which tells the whole story of your wedding day. Somehow I turn people from ‘we hate having our photos taken’ to ‘OMG SAM we really enjoyed it, thank you!’

Your wedding will be one of the single most important days of your life. I know mine was. It’s the end of one story and the beginning of a brand new one. It would be a privilege and a joy to capture it for you, letting you remember it exactly as it was.

Most couples I work with opt for all day coverage which helps ensure a really lovely, relaxed atmosphere and all my couples receive their full resolution digital files to do with as they please. They also get totally free downloads for all their friends and family which is pretty awesome. I photograph weddings throughout the South West, the whole of the UK and beyond – being based in Bristol means I frequently work in the Cotswolds, Somerset, Devon and Dorset – amongst lots of other lovely places!
